Snail mucin contains hyaluronic acid, proteins, peptides, proteoglycans, iron, and zinc. Apart from these contents, it also has antimicrobial properties.

Cosrx claims that its snail mucin essence contains a high concentration of 96.3% snail secretion filtrate (SSF). The product is supposed to keep your skin hydrated and glowing all day.

Review Conditions
The Cosrx advanced snail 96 mucin power essence was given to five of our team members for a span of 30 days. All team members were between the ages of 20 and 30.
The product was tried during the month of April, at the beginning of summer. Both humidity and temperature were on the higher side. No new skincare actives were used apart from the Cosrx snail mucin essence during this time.
Physical Impression
Cosrx is a premium K-beauty brand, and the packaging lives up to expectations. The snail mucin essence comes in a thick plastic bottle with a frosted glass appearance.
It is a pump bottle with a black pump mechanism and a clear, glass-like cap. The pump makes it super easy to measure the amount of product you need. The product itself is clear and fragrance-free.
Application Impression
The snail mucin essence is not only fragrance-free but actually has no smell at all. This was really important for me because the thought of snail secretions is yucky enough and doesn’t need to be enhanced by any smell.
Since it’s an essence, it is slightly more viscous (thick) than a serum and a bit slimy too. It is very easy to spread. You need only 2-3 pumps to cover your entire face.
Being thick, it takes a very long time to absorb completely into the skin and will remain slightly sticky even after hours of application. The product has a dewy finish and does make your skin appear more plump and shiny.
Like all dewy finish products, this snail mucin essence also highlights unwanted skin texture. If your main concern is dryness, this product will be your go-to because it doesn’t dry up easily.
Another great thing about the product is that it instantly soothes any skin irritation. Whether it is a dry eczema patch or a slight chemical or sunburn, the Cosrx snail mucin essence provides a cooling sensation instantly.
